Daniel Foster

Daniel is a Ph.D. student at the University of Toronto and a part-time professor at the School of Early Childhood of George Brown College. His research interests include developmental psychology and educational policy, particularly, investigating the paradigms that influence policy development and reformation across the different levels of government and has several publications in this area.

Jasleen Arneja

Jasleen is a PhD student in epidemiology, supervised by Dr. Arijit Nandi. Jasleen is interested in studying how the confluence of social, political, and economic factors drives disparities in population-level health and development. She is particularly interested in examining how social policies—such as paid sick leave—can be used to address health disparities.

 
 

Caroline Joyce

Caroline is a PhD candidate in Epidemiology in the department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health at McGill University. She is supervised by Dr. Arijit Nandi. Her thesis research investigates the impact of India’s national health policy on socioeconomic disparities in adverse pregnancy outcomes, specifically rates of stillbirth, abortion, and miscarriage. Her primary research interests are focused on leveraging quasi-experimental methods to estimate the causal impact of policy changes, specifically on maternal and reproductive health outcomes. She previously worked with Alive & Thrive Southeast Asia on evaluations of Vietnam’s expanded maternity leave policy and baby-friendly hospital initiative. Caroline has a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Psychology from Scripps College.

 

Sarah Windle

Sarah is a PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology at McGill University, where she is supervised by Dr. Arijit Nandi. She holds a Masters of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with concentrations in Maternal and Child Health and Global Health. Sarah is supported by a CIHR Doctoral Research Award in Honour of Nelson Mandela. Her research interests include policy evaluation, substance use, and early childhood education and care.
